Harald zur Hausen (1936–2023): Great Loss for the ISABS and the entire Scientific Community

The International Society for Applied Biological Sciences (ISABS) mourns the death of Prof. Harald zur Hausen, who passed away last Sunday at the age of 87. He received Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine in 2008 “for his discovery of human papilloma viruses causing cervical cancer”. He continuously supported ISABS activities and participated in person during ISABS biannual meetings. The ISABS leadership will honor his memory and extend our deepest sympathies to his family.
