Guidelines for On-line Abstract Submission

Deadline for abstract submission is April 21, 2017, 24.00 hrs CET.

Please read the instructions carefully.

It is acceptable to submit more than one abstract.

Abstract Format
  • Abstract should be written in English language
  • The abstract should not exceed 2000 characters
  • Indicate the topic and type of your presentation
  • Abstract should include the title, names of all contributors (without titles), department, institution, city and country.
  • Names of author and co-authors have to be submitted in the following way: First and Last name (example: John Smith)
  • Contact author (presenter) should submit his/her phone and e-mail address
  • It is preferable that submitted abstract has: the goal, material and methods, results, conclusion
Before you get started...

Type your abstract in a common Word Processor (e.g. MS Word). Please save a copy of the file with the abstract text only (no title or authors). This file can then be used for copy/paste directly into the online abstract submission. Special characters are widely supported.

When entering the site...
First Time Users:

  • 2. Fill in all required fields and save your information by clicking "Finish" on the online form.
  • 3. Confirmation e-mail with information about submitted abstract and abstract number will be sent to the e-mail address provided in your online abstract submission.
Submitting another abstract:

Corrections - Withdrawal and Editing an abstract already submitted
  • Changes, withdrawals and editing can be made until April 15, 2017, 24.00 hrs CET by sending the new summary on mail isabs@spektar-holidays.hr.

It is acceptable to submit more than one abstract. Each abstract has to be written in English (font: Arial, size:10). Abstract should include aim, methods, results and conclusion of the study in a single paragraph. Abstract can be presented as a poster or spoken presentation. However, since the number of spoken presentations is limited, Program Committee will select the abstracts to be accepted for spoken presentations. Review of Abstracts

The Program Committee will review all abstracts in full confidentiality with the aid of ad hoc reviewers. The Committee reserves the right to decline presentation of any abstract devoid of scientific content or merit or merely announcing the availability of a resource or service. Authors will be notified by the end of May whether their abstract has been accepted and, where relevant, whether it has been selected for spoken presentation.

Instructions for Poster Presentation

Common instructions for poster content and preparation must be followed by the author(s) who have, nevertheless, complete freedom to choose the way they display text, photographs, figures, tables…
Poster dimensions should not exceed 100 cm in width x 200 cm height (portrait layout).
Posters should be mounted on Monday, June 19 between 13:00 and 19:30 h and Tuesday, June 20 between 8:00 and 11:00 h. Posters can be viewed from noon of Tuesday, June 20 to 11:00 h on Friday, June 24. The presenting author must be near the poster(s) at the time indicated in the Conference program. Posters must be removed on Friday, June 24 from 11:00 and 13:00 h. After 13:00 h the posters will be removed and discarded by the hotel crew.

The Young Investigator Award (YIA)

Knowing the importance of including young researchers as active participants of the conference, ISABS encourages PhD and graduate students working toward a degree in the fields related to the conference program themes as well as postdoctoral researchers to join the conference and apply for Young Investigator Award (YIA). Therefore, for each ISABS conference YIA are presented for outstanding research presented by investigators who are less then forty-years-old. Scientific Advisory Committee of the conference selects finalists from nominees who submit abstracts. Besides the attractive prize, each award recipient is given the opportunity for a podium presentation. Author(s) of each selected abstract receive the Young Investigator Award Certificate as well.

Authors wishing to be considered for the YIA should complete the appropriate box during on-line abstract submission. Results of YIA applications will be notified by the mid of May.
